CLINICAL SUPERVISOR and COUNSELLOR (LIPS and Counsellors)

Full Time (Part Time applicants can be considered)

£35,000.00-£38,000.00 per year

The Employee Resilience Company Ltd (TERC) provides both Employee Assistance Provision and full Secondary Mental Health Services. The service is fully (APPTS) Accredited by The Royal College of Psychiatrists and The British Psychological Society for delivering the highest standards of clinical governance. The Accreditation also recognises the wide range of high quality services including counselling, secondary mental health services and wellbeing support offered by TERC.

TERC provides services to NHS, Blue Light Services and other public and private sector employees. TERC is a highly successful service which offers regular clinical supervision, case management supervision and CPD support to support you to achive the best results for your client and for your own professional development.

TERC are a fast-growing psychological services provider in the United Kingdom. Utilising technology to support a team environment but enabling home based working. With robust induction and training, 121 clinical supervision, case and peer supervision and a monthly CPD programme you will be supported to grow as a practitioner and individual. We offer psychological support via our EAP, a short-term model moving through to secondary tier mental health and a wide range of training and additional clinical services.

We are currently recruiting for qualified Counsellors / Psychotherapists to join our Employee Assistance Program and Secondary Mental Health teams across the UK. Working to both short and treatment term models, clients are able to access virtual face to face and telephone appointments. You can expect clients with a wide range of presenting issues both work and home related.

Our EAP team provide a 24/7 confidential support service alongside access to telephone and face to face counselling and support. Clients can call our number to speak to a qualified counsellor about issues such as depression, anxiety, stress, debt advice and family issues. There may be opportunities for onsite working in our partner NHS and Blue Light services as we continue to develop and grow.

The role will involve a range of duties including.

  • Delivery of virtual face-to-face counselling and telephone counselling to a short-term model.
  • Undertaking clinical assessment, risk management and sessional delivery.
  • Home work supported by our triage and senior clinical management team
  • Conducting telephone assessments including referrals for ongoing psychological support.
  • Providing support calls to employees and managers and signposting to appropriate external agencies
  • Offering Psychoeducation
  • Managing elevated risk calls
  • Providing advice to managers/HR on a need’s basis
  • Supporting clients within our CCBT programs
  • Supervising LIPS
  • Supervising Counsellors
  • Ensuring all documentation relating to tasks is up to date and stored as per TERC processes.
  • Opportunities to develop clinical, clinical supervision and leadership skills
  • There may be opportunities for some on site work within our partner NHS and Blue light services.
  • Duties commensurate with training and experience to meet service needs.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Professional qualification in counselling at Diploma level or above
  • Be BACP accredited or equivalent (evidencing at least 3 years counselling experience post qualification, at least 450+ hours of supervised practice and appropriate personal and professional development)
  • Hold a Counselling Supervision qualification at Level 6 or above
  • Have at least one year’s experience in offering group supervision to counsellors in a relevant setting
  • Have experience of supervising counsellors at differing levels of their careers
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions
  • Excellent communication skills, offering a trauma-informed way of being and language
  • Adaptable and flexible approach and ability to work evenings in line with client and staff requirements (when agreed and planned)
  • Good administrative skills
  • Experience and knowledge of safeguarding children and vulnerable adults
  • Experience in completing risk assessments
  • Telephone and Face to face sessional counselling delivery experience
  • Additional training further to their Diploma qualification.
  • Experience in EAP Clinical Delivery (or equivalent) or experience working within a multidisciplinary clinical environment.
  • Experience in applying Trauma-informed approach to work
  • Computer literate essential, alongside the ability to work as part of a team but also autonomously. All candidates will be required to hold enhanced DBS and we can process this on your behalf if you do not have this.

Hours:

  • 5 days each week Monday to Friday 8am – 4pm
  • Occasional Weekend On call work (twice a year)
  • Cover for Bank Holidays (rotational occasional cover)
  • On Call Rota (occasional)

As we offer a 24/7 service, you will be required to work occasional bank holidays on a rota basis.

  • We will then support you with “on the job” training to help you practice the skills you will need to perform the role. We have a team of seniors there to support you every step of the way
