About the job

About Us

We are a private Psychology Practice in Thornbury offering psychology services to young people aged 3 to 21 years and their families. This includes intervention, counselling, assessment and group intervention. We are a small practice centred on delivering the best client care rather than focused on squeezing in as many clients into a day as possible. Common presentations we work with include anxiety & phobias, depression, stress management, emotional and behavioural regulation concerns, learning difficulties, and friendship and relationship concerns.

 

Who we are looking for

We are after psychologists committed to delivering high quality client care with experience in evidence-based interventions and assessments relevant to the 3 to 21 years age group. We want psychologists comfortable working with young people, with strong communication skills to build rapport with clients and their families.

 

Both experienced and early career psychologists/graduates are welcome to apply. This is a contractor position allowing for flexibility in the hours worked, with no minimum required amounts of clients to be seen per day. Opportunities to work onsite at our private practice in Preston, outreach in a primary school, telehealth from home, or a mixture of locations.

 

General requirements (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement):

 

  • Full registration as a psychologist with AHPRA
  • Eligibility for registration with Medicare
  • Professional Indemnity Insurance and your own ABN
  • Current Working with Children Check and Police Check
  • Experience in common evidence-based interventions including cognitive behavioural therapy and acceptance and commitment therapy
  • Experience in common assessments including; Wechsler assessment kits, MIGDAS-2, ADOS-2, Conners 4, CTOPP-2 (highly regarded)
  • Endorsement in or qualifications in Educational & Developmental Psychology (highly regarded)
