1882 — Marie Bonaparte was born. Bonaparte used her wealth and influence to benefit Sigmund Freud and psychoanalysis. She paid the Nazis $4,824 to allow Freud to leave Austria in 1938.
1922 — Asher R. Pacht was born. Pacht's career has been devoted to improved treatment of clients in correctional settings by both psychological professionals and corrections officers and administrators. Special recognition has resulted from his work with sex offenders. APA Award for Distinguished Professional Contributions, 1982.
1947 — The first half of Alfred Kinsey's manuscript of Sexual Behavior in the Human Male was mailed to its publisher, W. W. Norton.
1985 — American Biodyne, the first national comprehensive health plan completely managed by psychologists, was incorporated by Nicholas Cummings.
